Church Partnership

Our model of church partnership is to help us to establish three things:

It helps to formalise levels of church partnership within WCCYM – Associate Partners and Key Partners.
It allows churches to be involved at a level to which they can commit, and this is clearly understood.
It encourages greater involvement, in different ways, from some of the local churches.

The two levels of partnership are extremely beneficial to both WCCYM and the church but there are some key differences between the two.

Being an associate partner church of WCCYM involves:

  • Being in the catchment of Comberton Village College or Cambourne Village College, or with strong links to one of these colleges.
  • Agreeing with WCCYM’s mission statement and key values.
  • Encouraging young people linked to the church to take part in WCCYM activities.
  • Encouraging volunteers and youth workers to attend WCCYM Team meetings and training opportunities.
  • Receiving regular updates, through newsletters, and in person, with occasional visits from a WCCYM representative.
  • Being supportive of WCCYM through interest and encouragement, prayer and practical support.
  • Encouraging church members to support WCCYM financially through direct giving or through fundraising opportunities, as appropriate.

In addition to the above, key partner churches also commit to:

  • Agreement with WCCYM’s statement of faith
  • Being part of the WCCYM management committee
  • Being involved in shaping the organisation with other key partner churches
  • Giving a significant financial contribution to WCCYM
